Those silly 'spinner' wheels

Another Phoenix CTD bites the dust...

That's what I wonder... . the car doesnt' seem to have any other damage. IE rollover, tree... etc. I think the driver may have either slammed on the brakes so hard he stayed that way, or he is alive to tell the story!

Moose stories

I was a member of the fire dept. when we lived in No. Az. We got lots of elk vs. car calls on our stretch of I 17. One day, we got one where the elk's head came through the right windshield, and ended up wedged between the steering wheel and windshield. The liver was lying in the back seat, and various other body parts were all over the freeway. We transported the driver to Flagstaff in deep shock !

yep, happens in maine/nh/vermont. they say to let off the brake before you hit the moose so the front end lifts up. But obviously the car usally snaps the legs and the moose goes for a ride with you inside the car.

fun, fun, fun.

When I moved to Maine in 97 there were 3 or 4 deaths at the exit ramp area for where I worked in the first month from people hitting moose. I had a close call one time at night, I was driving the wifes car and the thing was starting to walk across the interstate, didn't see him till I was right there, darn things chin was on the roof of the car as I went by. From talking to a friend in Maine that is a paramedic the worst part if you survive is the fact that the impact knocks off a million ticks and mites right on to you sitting in the car. It's pretty nasty.

yup, i've had a couple close calls myself... also have to watch out for them while snowmobiling. at least moose don't freeze like deer when they see lights, however, they are very stupid otherwise.

A buddy of mine forwarded an email with those same pictures to me about a month and a half or more ago. The email said it happened near South River Ontario Canada (close to home) and the driver suffered only a broken wrist. Funny how these things get around. I guess the Ontario plates on the car kinda verify part of the story.
