Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) how to idnetitfy 215 pump?

i might by a truck with a 180hp pump. i will want to swap it with a 215 pump how can i identify the pumps if i dont know whether the truck was auto or stick. is there a number on the side that will tell me the d/f?

data plat on side of Timing Gear housing

These number should be stamped on the drivers side "side or edge" of the timing gear housing behind the fan, but in front of the power steering reservior.

I beleave it will say 913 or 887 on the i. d. tag.
