How to install engine mounts

Another question. One of the engine mounts and the transmission mount was damaged in what we politely call my daughter's little "incident". I am going to replace them all and looking at the mount where it attaches to the frame, the frame is slotted about 2 inches side to side for adjustment I suppose. The frame forms a vee with an engine mount on each leg of the vee. Should I make any effort to center the engine in the vee or does it just slide where it needs to go when I lower the engine? Anyone with experience would be appreciated. Todd
