How to install FASS, Preporator, or Air Dog on 05?

I was wondering if there is special procedures to install these lift pump alternatives on the 05's now that the stock lift pump is in the tank.



Question #2 is if you are running a dual tank setup with a switched fuel solenoid how do these systems perform?

I spoke to a vedor the other day that has been testing some 05 trucks. He says the in-tank pump is inadequate to say the least. It won't support very much in the line of bombs. Also, it must be restrictive. They tried installing in-line pusher pumps to help it, but they couldn't suck through the in-tank pump.

Want to protect my fuel system

I am picking up my new truck tomorrow



I a usually keep a truck a long time I have read about the damage done by 5-10 micron particals at the high pressures in todays fuel system.



I understand that the pusher pump in the 05s don't allow for much of a fuel flow. But at this time I don't intend to BOMB my truck, I know this has been said before. But for now I just want to only add items to my truck to enhance its reliablity.



I also understand Air Dog just raised its prices So I am going check out FASS



Any clue as what I should do or call regarding filtering my fuel better

ceaman: I recently installed an Airdog in my 2005. Ekstam told me to bypass the factory fuel pump by installing a new line in the tank that originally ran from the pump. I did and unplugged the pump as the new line picks up along side of the existing pump. So far it works fine but I think could use a better pickup for fuel.



I am running an in bed second fuel tank but do not use a switched fuel solenoid in this truck. The valves I have do not have large enough ports and seem restrictive. In this truck I only use the second tank to transfer fuel thru a ball valve into the vent line of the main tank. It does work well and is trouble free.

I was wondering if you would be able to just unplug the factory pump without disconnectiing the fuel sending unit. I am glad to hear that. Sounds like this could be fairly easy to work around.
