You can then put your pics from the readers rigs into your posts if you wish as well - click on the link below the picture that says "forum codes" and it will give you the exact text to put into your message for the picture to appear.
Truckie, I have best luck posting from my readers rigs gallery. once you get them there the steps are simple.
Open a new window with your readers rigs gallery.
Open the picture you want to post.
Click where it says forum codes right below the picture.
Copy one of those addresses (usually ther second one is the best size).
Go back to your post window and click the button that says IMG in the option bar.
Paste the address you copied in there and click OK.
Now it will show up in your post. They can be inserted directly in as well but there are stringent criteria for size and this way is more flexible. Hope this helps.
Pay close attention to any messages the system is sending you. My guess is that your pictures are too large to post directly into the forums and it's telling you. The limit on the forums is 32,000 bytes, the limit in the reader's rigs section is 122,000 bytes. If you are trying to post a picture you took with a digital camera at high res without resizing it it's not going to fit. If you have a photo program you can resize it in that or you can download http://www.irfanview.com and use that to resize pictures. If you save in .jpg format and set the quality to 5 that will reduce your picture sizes greatly. On the forums the max size allowed for an image is 400x400 and if you resize it to that size or smaller and save with a quality of 5 it will fit. The reader's rigs section should handle most pics up to 800x600 with a quality of 5. If you put the pics in there you can easily copy that text into a message by selection the text with your mouse and then right clicking on it and clicking on copy - then go to your message you want to post on and right click in the text box and click on paste.
