I recently had a Industrial Injection Silver Bullet turbo installed on my truck and this thing is a little loud for my taste. Anyone have any ideas about making it a little quieter? I have already considered sound deadener, such as Dynamat. On the other hand, I am very happy with the turbo, no lag with just the MP8 box, and I hope to be putting some fuel to it soon.

thanks in advance fellas!

You might try a Turbo Air Guide (TAG) from DPP: http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/tag I tried one several years ago when I ran a big B1 turbo. I never saw any of the claims they mentioned on the web site, but it made that B1 quieter than the stock turbo with the silencer ring in it. It will do the trick for what your after.

Yes , Trade Me For My Stock Turbo... .

That would do the trick! But I dunno his turbo is an 04. 5. My stock turbo is a whole 1/2 year newer. It would probably be a better bet.

good try fellas, but sorry. No, I havent towed any loads, so I cant give you feedback on that. I do find myself turning DOWN the radio around town to listen to the turbo :D

i still haven't figured out why you want to quiet down such a beautiful sound. i installed one on a buddys truck over the weekend and loved it. i will be getting one. Oo.

I'm confused..... you say it's too loud, then you say you turn down the radio so you can hear it... . which is it ?

I know the stock air intake has a good sized baffle in the tube. If you can some how fab that into your existing intake kit, you may cool that whistle off... .

You need an intake bypass kit. One 'open' to get that nice whistle (performance intake) and another baffled and boxed (stock intake). An exhaust bypass valve on the intake side and then figure out where to put all that tubing and filters under the hood. :D  :-laf

Just wanted to make clear, this turbo needs an intake rated for enough volume. An AFE stage 2 is barely good enough. It pulls over 1000cfm so keep this in mind and thanks for your support. Brady

The best way I have found to quiet the turbo is to use the TAG and the scotty 3 air system. in my tests, the noise reduction was astonishing -- both of these things contribute.

open air filters and torque tubes are noisy, although the newer plastic torque tube is much better than the older metal ones. you need a closed air filter like the scotty.

there are only two things you can have with this turbo, POWER or PEACE----if you want the second---put your stock air box assembley on!!!
