there are 2 screws that come up from the bottom that hold that panel in place, once you find and remove them the remainder is just clips that will release as you pull the panel.

Thanks, I had gotten the panel off under the steering wheel to mount my brake controller, so it sounds like it is similar to that one.

Does anyone know where those two screws are exactly??? I have looked a little and have not seen them yet. I have had center console and cupholder blank out installing stuff and I did not see anything up under there. Scared I may break a panel if I miss a screw.

You might want to borrow your wife's make up mirror(don't get caught) or feel around with your fingers.

Mine is a manual trans, but I had to start at the bottom and pull out the cup holders, then the plastic behind the shifter before I could get to the two screws. After the screws are removed, a little prying with a 1" putty knife removed the wood panel.

Thanks guys. If time permits, I will go at it again and post results. Maybe I missed them up under there. Just to get this straight, are you guys saying that the screws go up into the panel that surrounds the heater control and once that is off, I can pop out the radio bezel or do the screws go directly into the radio bezel and you leave the heater control surrond alone?

mwilson in order to take to trim bezel off you need to first remove the lower cover under it. it is the piece that is right where the floor console meets the dash console and is caved in towards the dash. its pretty big but will come right off. After that there will be two screws directly below the two lighter plugs. they are recessed a bit but just stick a philips up there and start turning. the dash will come off but if it hasnt ever been off before you are going to need to work it out by prying out alittle at a time all around the sides and bottom. everything else will stay in place but the dash bezel and lighter plugs. there are two clips to the sides of the radio that like to hold on for dear life the first time, dont worry just pull. hope this helps. I know a ton about how to take this truck apart and rewire it so if you need anymore help let me know.

Thanks to all of you for the info. I will try again this weekend. I really appreciate the help.

I got into mine last night.

Had to pull all the little rubber trays out of the cupholder. There were three screws that held that piece to the floor. Once you pulled it out, you see two screws to pull the next piece out.

Then you will see two screws to pull the vertical/recessed piece below the cigarette lighter. .

Then there are two screws upside down at the lighter sockets as mentioned before.

Then start pulling around the heater contol panel and such. The woodgrained piece around the radio and the section around the heater controls is one piece. .
