I am trying to put my new Rostra seat heater in and I though I would pull the seats to make it easy. How in the world do you get them out. It looks like they are all hooked together. Any tips?

On my 04 I found it pretty easy to get to the 4 nuts that hold the seat bottom to the frame with all the electrics in it. I reached in with a rachet and it was pretty easy to get to the corners and nuts with a short extention and socket. Take off the nuts and the whole seat assembly including the back will come right out leaving the frame and electrics in the truck. Did mine on the kitchen counter on a cold day when the wife was gone. Read the directions and peel the covers back. I found I could slip the elements in without completely removing the covers. It was actually easier than I thought. I wound up pulling the power for the heater off of a big hot wire going to the seat movement switches. I made up a switch mount that bolts to one of the bottom frame bolts. I have to reach down almost to the floor to turn it on, but it works well. Good luck, you'll like the warm buns.

Sorry, no pics. I ziptied and taped the box to the frame/motor area. I made the switch mount our of a piece of 1" aluminum strap about 4" long. Drilled one end for the switch and the other for the mounting bolt on the frame located behind your right heel when seated. I just radiused each end, painted it black, and it looks pretty good if you stick your head in under there to look. It is pretty hidden. I bolted it in at a little angle and the wiring clears. I thought about extending the wiring up to a dash mount, but that seemed like way more trouble and this works well.

It was very easy to do in the truck. Less than 2hrs including the wiring.

You do not have to fully remove the seat covers like the instructions show. Just get one side undone and slip it in but be careful not to bend over the pad. The hardest part was doing the back of the seat up after install.
