OR, WA Coast... nice sandy beach...

Wifes Chevy Beretta had one of the vacuum lines burn in half several places. Is there a way to repair or do I need to get a new one? You know the ones that are gray, hard plastic and small in diameter. We have them on our trucks also. Why do they have to route some under the battery!!!! Temporary I plugged both ends which I figure is better than vacuum leak.

Go to a auto part's store and get some rubber windshield washer hose or some rubber vacuum hose, there are different sizes. Cut out the bad section of the hard plastic line, then cut you a piece of the rubber vacuum hose a tad bit longer than the piece you cut out, then force each end of the rubber vacuum hose over the hard plastic line. I have fix so many Dodge and Plymouth car's and truck's AC control unit's this way I have lost count.

heat shrink tubing as work as well. you just need to make sure you don't melt the vacuum line. i like using a heat gun for shrinking my heat shrink tubing. just take a 2" or so piece and slip 1" over each side of the broken part, then heat away. .

Wayno & nickleinonen Thank you both I can do both methods. However probably won't do shrink tube as the sections was burnt through in three places and the portion burned out is pretty big. I think shrink tube would squeeze closed the tube or guess should say would fill th void burned out. :D
