Just make sure the system is cool. If the coolant has more than 100k, flush the system and replace the thermostat and hoses. Doesn't have anything to do w/ replacing the radiator, but the hoses have to come off any way. Hope this helps a little!

If you have a 24 valve, you can pull the whole fan/pulley/mount together without loosening the fan clutch itself. You will need to grind a wrench down to fit behind the pulley for one bolt but I just used a cheap $1. 50 wrench from the bin. Some aftermarket radiators have a longer upper hose connection than stock. If you get one of these, don't mount the shroud to the radiator until you install the washer tank to the shroud.

Hope it helps.

buy a new lower radiator hose while you are there. I wrecked mine pulling it off. Nice insurance for $25-30

remember to re-route the crank case vent

You don't have to remove the fan. Remove the washer bottle and the overflow bottle to get room to work. Drain the radiator and remove the hoses first. The lower one is a PITA. Just remove the screws in the fan shroud and move it toward the engine. Remove the screws that fasten the radiator and lift it out. The bottom may stick a little bit but it is just a couple of pins in rubber bushings. That's the way it is for my '95. You didn't say what year your truck is.

This also worked on my 01. I bought new hoses ahead of time. Then I took a razor knife to slice the ends and they peel right off. You don't have to cut all the way through, just through the threads.

you can use a 1/8" vacuum cap to plug the washer bottle nipple so the fluid stays in when removed. Clean the intercooler off while you have the radiator out.

When I did my KDP, I pulled the Radiator. It was very simple. We did not remove the fan from the fan clutch, rather we removed the fan mount from the front of the engine. We also removed the washer fluid bottle and intercooler tube to get room to work. I also second everyone's advice, replace the hoses and while you're in there, clean the intercooler and condenser really well with degreaser.

well after a hour and a half, the radiator went in without a hitch. I seen no need to remove the fan or clutch. Thanks for the advice
