This is my first 4th gen. Owned several firsts down through the the line till here we are. Did i get crazy with mods in past years? Of course i did!
This is a brandy new 22 2500 longhorn with 900 miles on the ticker. Going to change the oil when everyone is drinking eggnog and making a mess of the house to get rid of the break in oil!

So,: is there a way to turn on the exhaust brake so its always on when truck starts? I know its not a big deal but for a $100k truck I’m hoping there’s a shortcut!

You all have happy holidays! I’m going to be around here more often! TIA

The only way that I am aware of is with a programmer, which I don’t think are out for the ‘22’s yet due to some pretty serious security upgrades in the ECM.

It will stay in the last setting sometimes with a trailer hooked up, but not always.

Mines automatic. I get in and automatically push the EB button ;-)> . But seriously it would be nice.

Trick your truck into thinking a trailer is in tow.
Use a blank 7 pin RV plug and wire a 12 ohm 8-10 watt resistor to the trailer brake and ground wire slots.
The Rear Park sensors will be disabled.
The Exhaust Brake will always be "On"
Sometimes when restarting a truck that has been off for a while the EB will be "off". Just push EB button to turn back "on"
The towing mileage can be reset to zero anytime.

My 18 when trailer plugged in and fired up , back up camera shuts off and tow haul goes to tow. Have to manually turn on exhaust brake. I think it's because on icy road conditions my cause some issues and Ram doesn't want to be sued. Just my .02

Interesting. My 2020 3500 and my brother's 2016 3500 both work as described when trailer is plugged in or with the modified plug.

Intermittent with a trailer on the ‘18 or ‘22, the only time the EB stays on consistent is with remote start and a trailer.

I enjoy watching those who have EB on then drive on slick roads ( seen it happen) its some what fun to see a truck do 360's, but sadly its the other vehicles on the road that can wind up wrecked from that spinning 8k truck.
