This is true.

About 18 months ago I had to take up swimming due to an injury. By "swimming" I mean, "I get in the water for half an hour and try not to drown".

I'm 35 and by most measures exceptionally fit. So imagine my surprise when nearly every fat person can swim circles around me! After several months of careful observation it dawned on me why - ever see a lean marine mammal? Nope! Whales - huge; sealions - huge; walrus' - huge.

Obviously, the fatter you are, the better you swim. I'm convinced. I have no idea why so many olympic swimmers are so skinny.

Its true swimming and jogging are the best exercises for fitness. I also like swimming, mostly in summer we spend our time at beach side and play different water games.

It's funny you say that... when I tell my friends that I can't swim, they don't believe me. When I tell them I sink like a rock, they don't believe me. Only when I get in the water, and take a deep breath and proceed to drop to the bottom of the pool and sit there, do they believe me. And yet, another person with the same physical appearance as myself can float just fine.
I must be dense...
