how to tell which turbo?

how can i tell which turbo i have on my 2000 automatic 2500 truck?

If it's stock it's an HX-35

Yes it is stock, but some people were saying about upgrading the exhaust hausing to 12cm or something? which years is that for?

stock housing on the 2000 is already a 12cm. They went to the HY-35/9cm in 2001 for the auto. So you're good to go...

how can you tell tho which one it is, i have one i might be able to pick up for cheap but i want to know how can i identify it easiest

I think this has been posted before but:



94-00 All Rams - HX-35/12cm2

01-02 5spd - HX-35/12cm2

01-02 6spd ETH - HX-35/10 or 12cm2

01-02 Auto - HY-35/9cm2

I understand that, but because manufacturing date on mine is late 2000 i am not sure if its the 2000 model or 2001 model. .



is there any markings on the turbo that i can check, or what would i measure to check what size/time is it. .

Typically, on the outlet of the turbo (hot side), there will be a tag that will be stamped with HX-35 or HY-35. You have one or the other.
