1999 139 k - still like it as much as the day I bought it -maybe more I know that the intake heaters are cycling as at COLD start up I can see the tach go up and down 25-40 rpm ? but I would like to be able test to see that BOTH of them are working as when it gets really cold here in Alaska it will take both to get it to start. Thanks

You can use an ammeter and test current draw. As you know, mother cycle after startup and from what I understand, they alternate during the running cycle. If you are seeing voltage drop on your volt meter after start up, I would assume your grid heaters are working as designed. You could also perform a simple voltage test at the grid heater connections.

No voltage at each connector to ground at key cycle. Continuity to ground on both. elements key off- 1.0 ohms to ground on each element to ground key off-never checked ohms with key cycled on ??? I think they are working fine ??

Never check ohms on an energized circuit and I doubt you have an ammeter with enough range. You can power up the relays and measure the voltage drop through the heaters.

Yes if you try to ohm a hot circuit you will be putting a new fuse in your Fluke or a new meter ha?
