HOW to tune up SMARTY s06 pod with NEW MODS?

F1 diesel flux2 (100hp injectors) complete set with ss bodies

fass 150gph with filters

smarty s06 pod

htt htb2 turbo 62/12 (wastgated at 50psi)

what should i do with my smarty to gain most mpg?

played around now and cant find a good setting

as i dont tow im not really in need of that much power

(cant get grip during wintertime so i will keep playing again in summertime)

what about injection timing? torque management? rp?

run revo? or revo TNT?

PLEASE SHINE A LIGHT ON THIS REALLY CANT UNDERSTAND

If I had your truck I would set the Smarty on software #9, RP stock, Timing for aftermarket injectors, Torque Management I would leave stock. Set the POD at 99 unless you are having trouble getting traction and then back it down to 60 or less. After hand calculating the fuel mileage for a few tanks with this setting I would adjust one setting and check it for a few tanks.

Do not go by the overhead MPG reading, it is rarely accurate.

Oh yeah, the other thing is you have to be easy on the skinny pedal to get good mileage.

Godspeed,
Trent

dont these low ctahcer levels give me more mpg?

what about the highets timing settings?

but on the otherhand last year i didnt relly

se diffrence betweeen sw1-3 maby abit less mpg with 5

I would run full advance on the timing , never had any luck with lower levels gaining mileage fun to mess with though

mods ive done

100hp flux2 and ss bodies

cp3 from industrial (the bag of parts went to hell)

smarty pod

modded air

modded and exhoust and the kitty was lost

htb2 turbo 12 housing so it can run hot

fass 150pgh

tried sw1 and all on options as stock

for the momen my gauge is abit over half and ive driven 135miles

that doesnot sound good for my wallet an thats almost highway all the time and

50mph didnt tow anything. .

what should i start with to adjust? timing? or a bigger catcher?

whats better hig catcher and low pod setting or simply a low catcher?

reading alot and other sites had hints

about catcher 5 and 7. . an pod 60-75

but what timing is good with 100noxxles? 2,3,4?

will it help if i can put my boost down?

dont have a gauge yet but wastegated at 50psi

Sub, I would run the standard Revo for mileage gains, all options at default, except torque, that I would leave at 1. SW5 or lower, I don't care for the POD, I would leave at 100% and just use a lower catcher.

With the larger injectors and II's CP3, I'm afraid your mileage may not ever be the same... I have Flux 1. 5's, mileage was not affected by them alone, but the Arson III dropped my mileage about 1 1/2 mpg around town.

With a pretty similar setup as the op I average around 15-16 running sw5 with rp2 tq2 and timing at the recomended aftermarket injector setting whic is tm3 I think? I tried sw3 for 1300miles and averaged 14 and some change. Now I was towing a small sailboat for half of that and there was a lot of aggressive driving from San Diego to get north out of the LA basin before getting stuck in traffic. Then on the way north had the cruise at 21rpm and bumping up for passing. Like others have said the best way is to slow down. I am currently running same settings but sw4 and feel like it is working pretty well. sw5 seemed like a good balance of fun pretty fast mpg and controllable smoke

I have the bag of parts from II and 60hp injectors, my truck loves TNT #6, everything else set at defalt except I have the waste gate turned off cause I have twins now. If I turn the smarty up any more I drop down to much on the rail pressure. For max mileage U might try turning up the timing a bit, but as others have said don't go to much with those injectors. And drive it easy, that helps the most.

Maybe try a tank with no programing, so U have something to compare to

Good Luck

AMcCormick was your mpg wwith empty truck? at what speed was it or was i mixed driving?

yes 3 is for aftermarket injectors

4 should be for big aftermarket injectors

it should be like this if ive don my reading correct

1is a little timing# 2is much timing # 3is less than 2 # 4is less than 3

now i have 153miles driven (250km)

and the fuel gauge went from full to half. . that doesent sound like good milage (smarty catcher sw1 and adjustoptions as default)

what shouldi do next? i will try to update smarty now

Not totally empty but not fully loaded either. The 15-16mpg with sw5 was mixed driving at times loaded up around 8klbs with no trailer

My last tank I think came in around 17. 83mpg. This is an estimate as my wife put fuel in the truck before I could log it. I had 535 miles on before the fuel light came on. Light came on just after she took the truck. Assuming there is five gallons left when the light comes on. This is empty mostly freeway keeping around 60-65mph

I think what you were asking before is why not more timing? The answer is because of your large injectors. They advance the timing just by allowing more fuel in earlier in the stroke. So... if you advance the timing with your SMARTY, it is like stacking timing boxes. Not good.

last trip mostly highway but it was snow on the road and i have 305/70/17 rubber under the truck and used 2wd

my mods is cp3 from industrial, flux2 100hp nozzles with injectors

and a new turbo (cruising 0. 2bar boost)
smarty sw1 timing3 tq1 and everything else on default

got 17. 66mpg-18. 83mpg is this good or can i hope for better?no load at all and 2 passengers (shortbed quadcab)

strange the overhead showed about the same
