Anyone know How I can turn Under Hood light OFF ? Without me disconnecting the batterys? Which fuse controls it, I guess I could pull a fuse if I knew which one. I imagine light is powered when hood reachs a certain angle. I hate to have light burning all day when I have the hood open.

Thanks, Bill

it should turn off on it's own after 15 minutes, all our lights have timers now to prevent battery drain if you forget and leave them on.

I have read in the manual where this feature is now incorporated on the new trucks, BUT, will it shut off the 4 way flashers after the time is up? I would think that one would want the flashers to stay ON in an emergency situation.

My hood light says on, I have left the hood open for several hours and the light was still on. it might be based on amp draw and battery voltage though.

That bulb only draws an amp or so. It should be able to stay on for many days without causing any starting problems. If you want to turn it off why not just wire an underhood switch into the 12v supply wire?

Leave the hood up, say while working on a project. Leave the key in the on position, say while working on said project.

Get interrupted for the evening. Come back in the morning. Under-hood light will be off.

It works, but please dont' ask me why I know this... .
