i am looking for the right turbo. i know i want to go with the 62 but which one 62/65/12 $1280 or 62/71/14 $1405 or 62/71/13ss $1700 or $1800?.

this is the heaviest load i pull. about 30,600 gross. oh yea my little hy does pretty good hauling this load at 70mph with the tst on 4-0. egts pulling hills with not trouble less than 1100. so i know the smallest of the 62 will do it but i like a little top end running empty on the inerstate but dont want to drop to much mpg empty or have a turbo too small that wont get me to 550hp or so. bottom end isnt a big deal b/c i have the NV and jack rabbit starts are not really doable. thanks for your input.

JJ i plan on running exactly what you have except i will using the diablo power puck for my pressure. how does the II62 compare in size to these turbos 62/71 or what?

is the 13ss really worth 400 or 500 extra?

If you have the $ the 13 SS sounds like the best option with improved spooling. If you haven't done it yet put on a 4" exhaust elbow and exhaust. Stock lift pump?

Just put a 62/13/71ss on mine this week. Had a 62/12/65 on it prior. The spool up is a little slower to 10lbs of boost than the 62/12 but then it takes off. Cruising temps are about 100* higher as well but under WOT the egt's are lower. I would say you would be happy with either. If I towed all the time and heavy I would lean more towards the 62/12/65 or the 62/65/14. This is just my opinion.

if i can manage towing with the 62/71/13ss then i will go with that one. which one makes more whistle?

i have the stock lp on it for now. stock elbow and a high flow muffler. i need to address these before the f1's and turbo.

Just an FYI I could not keep a gasket between my turbo and manifold when I had the htt SS62/13 the lip is to thin and if you work it at all you will blow it I went through 4 gaskets in 10k miles they even have a special gasket it lasted 500 miles RIP at Source Automotive took care of me now I have a htt62/14 it rocks(20k since install) highest temp was 1300 degrees pulling I-70 into Denver at 60mph GVW was 18k Randy

That 13 cm stainless steal sounds very interesting. I think that it would spool well and also be big enough to get you to your 550hp mark. I have a sledpuller 66 with a 14cm housing. I don't tow, but for hot rodding it is awesome!!! I really like HTT.

II PS62, 65mm turbine

II SPS62, 71mm turbine

II Silver62, 74mm turbine

For my money, the SPS62 is the "1", get a cast elbow from an 04. 5 or newer, and a new 4" downpipe, and your set.

The HTT 62/14/71 is also equal, just a matter of preference, II or HTT.
