Off Roading KORE Alpha VR springs application?

hey guys,

just curious how you think my truck will pull with the mods. I've been thinking of hitting the next fair pull around here. I feel an addiction starting :-laf

Justin, are you saying Nebraska pullers are easy pickins?

I think it will pull pretty good-right before you shear your Dana 70 yoke off!!

Well considering you have to have a 2. 8" turbo and at least 600rwhp to run anywhere near decent in our local "stock diesel" classes around these parts.

His setup is good for Nebraska but wouldnt be so hot out here.

Do yourself a favor:

1. Traction bars (diesel darryl on here makes a nice bolt on set for pulling)

2. Hang weight (eep sells what you need)

3. Block or re-enforce your suspension so you dont have too much travel... this will also save parts from breaking.

4. Get some big 200hp injectors. .

5. Get a "loose" torque converter (like ats sledpulling converter)

6. Get at least a 2. 8" turbo

7. lockers or limited slips help too.

8. oh get a tire that matches your track well. If they are loose/sandy get some mud terrains.

9. Reduce the front tire pressure

10. maintain rear rated pressure

11. get a good pulling hitch that is adjustable or is up around 26" and stationary.

12. valve springs and a cam wouldnt hurt.

13. run cetane boost.

If you follow this advice you could pretty well gaurantee yourself a win wherever you go in Nebraska. :-laf

go to www.rockymountainsusp.com

they have a large selection of traction and ladder bars at a good price.

check rules in the stock classes around here no free hanging weights allowed.

can someone put a link to eep I can never find a web sight for them.

A 2. 8" turbo is a turbo with a 71mm compressor wheel.

Several vendors sell S400's, K31's etc. with that has a 71mm wheel or larger.

If you can run a larger turbo than that go for it (just make sure you can keep it lit).

A great bolt on option for sledpulling is an Aurora 5000 from ATS diesel. It has the 2. 8" forged billet machined wheel up front.

www.enterpriseengine.com click on products/services. Then click on products.

BILLVO:

If you want to see some 2. 8" turbos in action click on the "updated sledpulling video" in my signature.

wow. . that sounds like a lot of work. . I just wanted to hook once or twice for fun :-laf but I've heard there is no such thing as just one. Thanks for all the advice :)

:{ Pulled mine this year, had suspension blocked and chained and I have traction bars from (Greg Long Great guy!!)and it wasn’t cheap, :{ Rear yoke and U-Joint and some how cracked the transfer case cover?? :{ Don’t ask I don’t know. But now I have the bug and im selling some other toys to get some work done this winter. Things will be better next year!!:-laf

Pulling is addicting. Nebraska or any other state!!!

If you want any chance anywhere you are going to need suspension work, blocks and traction bars, adjustable hitch and hanging weight.

Nebraska doesn't have that many pulls and the power isn't near what it is in some of the other states. There are a couple good trucks around.

A Nebraskan is 6th in the DHRA street diesel points.

It takes practice and $$$ of course. Go out and try. and CBrabec you just as well come too.

Welcome ASholting. It is good to see some more Nebraskans here. Will be looking for you at pulls next year.

I don't know about pulling Todd, I've got the bug more for racing! Oh yea, I just a speeding ticket, remember. Who knows, maybe brandon will talk me into it. I also agree with it being nice to see other fellow Nebraskans chime in.

I like where this is going :D Yes I know I need all the suspension stuff and what not. I really am curious how it will pull. Chris... we should line up sometime... if you dare... . wreckless driver :-laf

word of advice, if your truck starts hopping really bad, let off the throttle. Even with traction bars it can happen

Put some traction bars on there and give it a try.

How will you do? It just depends on who else shows up I guess!

We should all get together sometime..... I'd like to ride in a truck with a built auto in it.

Got-Torque, Brandon (bbodammer) and I are working on a get together for us Nebraska/Iowa guys. I'll keep you informed when we decide the time and date.

Chris
