Eric,
If you can adjust your TV cable to where your 3rd gear doesn't slip, why do you keep moving it back to the slipping position?
Does it hurt drivability or limit throttle travel or what? I've wired my TV fully rearward for maximum pressure to limp a bad transmission to the shop. Hunting between 2-3 becomes a major problem. Have you seen that?
This is where a simple pressure gauge would really help. We could monitor line pressure when the clutches are slipping versus not slipping. Then we would be able to see if there is an internal problem.
It's easy to hook up a pressure gauge. Directions are available on the internet. Do that and get back to us.
