One of the next things that needs to be done to my truck after a pusher pump is a trany. I have been thinking ATS or DTT and on a whim the other day stopped in a local trany shop to see what they had to say. The owner spoke with me seemed like a good guy. He tells me he can rebuild my trany to high performance and a tc from http://www.protorque.com/index2.htm have it installed with in three days all for about 2700. My question is should i seriously consider going with this guy? He is local and the closest place for any of the others is about an hour away. Or should I not try and be frugal and pay the extra for one of the other two? Sorry for being so long. ThanksOo. Oo.

Doug,

Personally, I wouldn't chance it. Just my opinion. Had DTT do mine back at the end of October. Put 40,000 miles on it between now and last November 1st. I would go with either ATS or DTT. Listen to smoe of these guys on here. Very knowlegable when it comes to trannies. If you like, you could visit DTT or ATS's website and in their forum's ask if anyone has heard of these guys, and their opinions. Hope this helps.

There are several good aftermarket transmissions available. Do some research, and go for it. I have about 25k miles on mine & couldn't be happier! Read my sig... ...

Yeah I kinda had a feeling about it. I did do a serch and have been reading up on ats and dtt. Its one of those things thats too good to be true with the guy near me. Thanks guys.

There are more trannies than ATS and DTT-- I know many members are happy with Goerend Bros, Suncoast, and others.

That said, there's a reason that ATS and DTT are the "big two" in auto trannies.
