Looking at 2001 2 wheel 132000 miles 5 speed. Is this a good year for dodge cummins. He said it has new clucth rebuilt transmission. What should I look for if I go to buy this truck are the front ends and brakes good on these trucks. Should I worry about injectors or turbo. Hes asking $3800. THANKS.

Only $3800 with new clutch and rebuilt transmission? Why so cheap? Also, what happened to it that it needed a transmission rebuild so early in its life? Was it just for performance, or was it trashed?

Upon first thought, I'd say for that price I'd be all over it. But then I go back to my question: Why so cheap?

Ditto what Ice Man said. Although, some folks just get tired of them and at 132k think "it's cost me some money, I might just as well give it up". I can't understand that type thinking, yet - I'm only 50 and still loving the bug bite and the slippery slope :-laf

Definitely look at the block, drive it feel the clutch, let it get up to normal temps and row through the gears. Cruise in each gear at a set speed, ease on the go pedal and then quickly let off to see if it pops out of gear - do this in each forward gear. $3800 I'd be all over that . . . too:)
