Does anyone have Dyno #'s or an educated guess for a 99 W/manual trans equipped with only these bombing mods? Thanks

A semi-educated guess would be 280-300HP and 610-650FTLBs.

  • 275's + EZ = 265hp
  • DD I's + EZ = 280hp
  • DD II's + EZ = 300hp

I don't have any figures for just EZ and DDIII's yet. These are Mustang Dyno numbers.

I've decided to get 'DDII's' to go along with my awesome 'EZ. ' How long can I expect my stock transmission to last with this upgrade if I don't tow? If it lasts 6 months I'll then have enough $ for the DTT TC/VB upgrade. When it comes to my truck upgrades, I've always gone with the motto: "buy more than you need", no matter what order you buy it. #ad

In my honest opinion... don't even attempt it. I have DD2's and the EZ box along with Bill K's transmission setup, ad you wouldn't believe the power that my truck has. With the DD2's and EZ, you will destroy your stock transmission with no questions asked.

Except for the fact that he is on the road, I would reccomend you talk to Bill K about your stock transmission.

Is anyone running this combo as I am giving a great deal of consideration to these.

Barry, I'm running DDII's with a HOT PE and the EZ... I also have a first generation VA that I am comparing with the EZ. Truck is a '99 with the 6spd transmission, 4X4, 3. 54's. Only other mod is a K&N in stock box. Truck runs great, I'm taking it kinda easy so as not to fry my clutch just yet. 26k... would still like to get a few more miles out of stock clutch. Any ques, fire away.

I am dieing, but my truck isn't---I'm in a quandry about these injectors, I've got the 275's waitin' to be installed, but I don't know now, after reading about injectors, if I shouldn't try to sell them and buy DD2's or DD3's---hp, hp, hp---but since I live in ol' Cali---I really don't want a lot of smoke--if some comes out on WOT then I think I could live with that, but I don't want a smoker---I'm all set up with DTT tc & vb , so I'm set there---any input guys---stay with the 275's or go with the DD2 or 3's?? chris

My set-up hardly smokes at all unless I really romp on it from low RPM's. Otherwise, with smooth application of the right foot, no smoke to speak of.

I'm not for sure on this. . but I think the ETC with the 6spd holds about 800lb. torque. From what I hear, the ETH holds less.

Dynoed today with the new HX40

275's + EZ = 293. 2/581. 6

with the HX35/14cm2

275's + EZ = 271. 2/535. 4

This was on a DYNOJET

What hp and torque is considered max for the stock clutch in the 6spd?

Why would the clutch behind an ETH hold less torque than behind an ETC?

Id say go with the biggest injectors that wont give you smoke trouble.

Love my DD1's w/ the VA, but kinda wish i'd gone w/ dd2's. Was concerned about too much smoke, but once you get used to it, you automatically roll it on while its building boost and it doesnt smoke.

275's will only waste your time, and make you want more, so you might as well get it right the first time. At least dd2's.

As far as clutch is concerned, its all in your foot 'till you get a stonger one.

On the smoke issue. I am running with a Edge EZ on the #1 setting(most aggressive), Bully Dog stage III injectors, HX40 and 4" exhaust. If I drive on the conservative side, I have VERY little smoke when starting from a stop. If I really step on it, especially while accelerating from third to forth gear, I can put out a short but dense cloud of black. Same thing while accelerating from 4th to 5th. jjdiesel is correct, if you hit it hard before turbo spool up, you'll get smoke. If you roll the power on with the boost up, smoke won't be a problem (atleast unloaded). As far as the ETH clutch goes, it will not hold up to much BOMBing and needs to be replaced if you are planning on running anything beyond an EZ and 275 injectors. Hope this helps.

WeirCummin, that is an impressive change in HP# and torque #'s for just the addition of the turbo. When not on the throttle, does it equate to an improvement in mileage?

No typo... all the guys testing these clutches say the ETH holds considerably less in stock formation than does the ETC. Pictures definitely show less clutch surface on a ETH than a ETC. Why? Who knows. As I stated, I could be off on the actual numbers of torque lb's, but it seems that the ETC holds more.
