My new trailer life mag. has a Cummins ad in it for their new RV engine(6. 7L) and it says 350hp & 750lb. ft. of torque. Obviously this engine is is capable of a lot more than what DC is going to use. I'm satisfied with my new C&C , but the extra torque would be nice while pulling the trailer. Wonder what the stock drivetrain (6 spd. man. ) can handle?

My guess is the 6spd/clutch combo is already at its maximum duty rating. I suspect that is why the low GCW ratings of the 4500/5500 trucks. However keep in mind all the modified 5. 9 trucks out there with more power then the stock 6. 7. The RV engine rating is no doubt governed at about 2600 rpm, also they have larger cooling systems. Dodge has always started out with low hp/tq ratings so they have room to boost them when the competition does.

The 6. 7 is rated at 350/650 in the 2500/3500.

I have a very big feeling that the automatics will be rated higher than the manuals, just like Ford and GM are doing...
