How Long Does It Take?

I'd bet some one has started from scratch and can tell me where I'm at so far. As hp/ trq... . I have a 2000 quad cab one ton Drw

with the 47e auto 4. 10's I started with an afe mega cannon, and

have added an edge ez box, It's Like night and day. but iam sure it's not as much as i want it to be. The last thing i'll do is 4" exhaust -w- turbo master, Any guess how many I've added?

I'm not even sure what it was bone stock. 215?

thank you

Welcome to the TDR!

Important to distinguish between Fly Wheel HP and Rear Wheel HP.

Your truck is, I believe, about 195hp at the rear wheels-Stock.

Adding the EZ to an automatic will give you maybe 50 hp. That's a 25% increase, so it's no suprise you notice a big difference.

Careful about adding any more till you get a feel for how your transmission is dealing with the extra hp you have. Most who have been there and done that will tell you to start saving money for the inevitable day when you have to upgrade your transmission-even with just an Edge EZ.

I know for the 12 valvers with an intercooler (ahhh, The days of having an intercooled pickup... . ), 1 psi boost equals ROUGHLY 10 engine hp. not sure about 24 vlavers, though. I know compression ratio makes a big difference. Exhaust housing, air filter, exhaust, etc, also make a difference. I had a stock 93 that made almost 20 psi (H1C- 18cm), and dynoed 234 on an E-test. COnversely, my early 91 will peak at close to 40psi, but Iknow I am nowhere near 400 hp. Be doign good to get 1/2 that to the wheels.

So what is the point of my rambling? It is really hard to tell. A quarter mile run can give you a ballpark figure, but even that can be off a bit, depending on transmission shift points, how hard you stomp it, how fast the engine responds, etc.

from what i have seen at the dyno and trucks of your type, you have got around 270 hp to the ground, just a good guess enjoy,

I really appretiate all the reponses. I used to have a chevy and belong to another forum, And I never got this well of a wellcome and the truck with the 6. 5 did'nt treat me so good either.

allthough i wish i had that 4L80E behind my ctd
