I was just curious how hard it would be to convert a 12 valve over to high pressure common rail. Not that I would do it, because the p7100 is so versatile, but can it be done?
• Machine head to take HPCR injectors
• Rig up a retaining mechanism to keep them in their bores (all 24v engine injectors are held in by retainers, not bolted in)
• 12V style injector tips due to offset bowl and angled injector
• Install high pressure rail, maybe above intake plate with lines running to injectors on the exhaust side
• Install CP3 pump like Signal 73 mentioned
• Install a crankshaft with a tone ring
• Install all necessary electronics
• A little dash of good luck!
all right I usually try not to do this but I cant help myself... ... Does it matter which ring tone you put on the crankshaft..... Giggle giggle giggle..... Ok I know it was lame
LOL... . Can I have some of what you've seem smoking.
/Goes and added 9 degrees of timing with a button, while driving...
//add duration with a button, while driving.....
///adds pressure while driving...
////Uses a CP3.

Seriously, tho I bet it would be cheaper to just drop in a full CR motor. The CR's run hotter and things that melt easier in the 12-valve will have to be addresses just to run. Might get away with a 03-04 CR before you could a 04. 5+ (3rd injection event).
