I just installed an HRVP44 from II and I noticed it idles really fast as compared to the stock pump on my 02.

It idles at 950+ now with the HRVP44 as compared to the stock pump idle speed of around 800 rpm.

I was wondering if this is normal or if I have something else that needs to be checked like APPS or something?

Mine was higher from the day I put it in.
From what I read before I got mine, this was to be expected.
Mine isn't perfectly consistent though. It will lower to 900 ish sometimes, and 950 at others.

Put about 100 miles on it today and it idles around 900 even overall. After I got home I had to unload smarty back to stock. With the new pump it lopes and surges so bad I had a hard time controlling it. Around town at low speeds it was just annoying surging or loping you could hear but not feel. At 75 on the interstate it surged and loped so bad it made the rig get to bucking until I would let off a couple of times to smooth it back out.

Tomorrow I will se how it acts with the smarty out of the picture. It was only on SW4 today that is what I ran it on with stock pump.
