Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) HTB2, Smarty, Comp, & Mach 4's

Well, I have a buyer for Mach 1. 5's and I am thinking of making some upgrades. If I go with the Mach 4's and Smarty, is the HTB2 enough turbo for towing 7,000 to 10,000 lbs. occasionally with Comp off? I have read all the praises of the Smarty, and am very intrigued. Just want to know if the turbo needs upgraded prior to doing this round of upgrades.

Yes the HTB2 will be a great turbo for your combination!

I would say, as long as your not at high elevation with mountain passes, you will probably be fine. Being in Indiana, you will probably be fine. Still might have to use your foot to control EGTs though.

No mountains in Indiana!!! Thanks for the input, if I need more turbo down the road I will send it back HTT for the upgrades.
