I was comparing my neighbor's 3rd gen Jake setup with my 2nd gen and noticed the vacuum actuator for the Jake is located on the opposite side. At first glance it looks like it may interfere with the a/c hardware at the firewall? Also apparantly the turbo flange would be 1" closer to the firewall than the stock HX35 flange which would put the Jake elbow right at the firewall. On a good note, at a glance it appears the elbow's bend angle (ie. downpipe angle) is very similar between the 2nd and 3rd gen Jake brakes so downpipe attachment shouldn't be too bad?

I searched on here and made a few calls, and it seems several others have considered this approach but I haven't found confirmation that it can actually be done. Does an HTB2 w/ 3rd gen flange and a 3rd gen Jake elbow fit without interference at the a/c fittings and/or firewall?

BoonDocker was the first person that I had heard this idea from. Sort of...

He thought that it might be possible to fab a flange plate that would connect the 3rd gen outlet of the HTB2 to a 2nd gen turbo exhaust elbow. That way he could keep his brake. As far as I know, no one has done it yet and none of the venders I have contacted had any clue about it.
