fuel filter

Well, I spoke with Fabshop today, they say thier mainfold is a direct boltup. They make some awesome stuff for tractors, I have seen their work first hand on them.

SO, I pulled the trigger and hit the BUY button. I'll have it mid week next week.

Woohooo!!! You are all setup with gauges to gives us a report back on EGT's (before and after) and maybe seat of the pants spool up info>

Will you start a new thread, maybe with install pics too??

I'm sure that you will be very happy with it!!!

When I spoke to them, I asked about changes in EGT's, I was told that I should see at least a 100* change when towing and more running empty, that statement came from his feedback by others who have installed it. He also said that most are seeing better fuel economy too, somewhere in the 2-3mpg range. He also mentioned that feedback said the spoolup is faster as well. He mentioned that I could hook up a 'drive pressure' gauge to the manifold as well. Have to think about that one?? Will need some advice about hooking up a gauge for drive pressure.

When I get it installed I'll start a thread, and also do some pics. I am expecting it to arrive sometime mid-late next week, maybe I can find time to install it next weekend, if not, the weekend after for sure. He also discussed it having been used with twins, more to consider???

I am sure I will be happy with it, looks to be a quality made product, and it's coming from people who make this stuff for a living with lots and lots of racing and pulling background to back up their design under rigorous demands. I also chose it because it has the larger inside diameter flow of them all and what appears to be the better/smoother flow paths to the turbo. I went with the polished stainless, if I decide I want to ceramic coat it, I can get that done locally.

I like the look of the OverKill manifold and the fact it can be had for us old 12v owners. If I could find a place other than the DTR to buy it I probably would pull the string on one, but,I would NEVER place a dime in the DTR's pocket.

The Fab Shops one is nice, but no 12v manifolds. I have heard that there is one coming very soon from another source which we should all see after the first of the year for us old 12v guys and gals.

So for now I am stuck with the ATS crap until I can find a suitable replacement... . Andy

I liked the overkill manifold as well, I didn't choose it simply because I also liked the fab shop manifold, toss up to me. Shame they don't make on for the 12v's - the fellow at fab shop seems very workable, you might want to give him a call and see what he could do for you if you had interest in his product??? As far as putting a dime into DTR's pocket - if it was the only place to get what I wanted, I would not hesitate, but that's me not you and I have no reason not tobuy, you obviously do.
