About 3 years ago I had to replace one hub bearing on a 97 2500 gasser. I searched everywhere including two bearing supply houses in the Dayton, OH area and nobody carried the bearing except the dealer. All the auto parts stores (Advance, Auto Zone, Napa, etc) said they had it. When I looked at the part, it was the bearings for a 2wd truck. The "correct" part could fit inside the old bearing. I wasted a whole day searching because my dad was convinced we could get the bearing somewhere cheaper than the dealer and it was his truck.

As I recall the bearing is made by Timken. One of the suppliers called his Timken rep to try to cross reference the number and he did not come up with anything. It seems to be a part that DCX has kept proprietary. DCX may have released the design to the aftermarket by now. Back then, the only place to get a track bar was the dealer. Good luck in your search.

Edwardsd, What year is your truck? www.rockauto.com has them for up to 1999 model year trucks. 4-wheel ABS hub assemblies are $291. 79 and regular hub assemblies are $184. 79. NAPA has them as well, $384. 00 4-wheel ABS, $249. 00 regular hubs. I'm not sure but I think NAPA hubs come with a lifetime warranty.

"intergrated"

Thats what Dodge calls it, hubs & bearings all in one piece.

sooo.

50 K miles, new ball joints, hubs, bearings... ...

& "customer service" hangs up on you when you call to ask a question. .

Dealer telling you all along "its the tires" when you ask about the weird wear.

then 36K miles go by & POOF! They want 1903. 17 to fix the previous "non- existant" problem.

Be carefull getting your hopes up there chumm. We have had lifetime warranties from NAPA denied as they were over 60K miles. :eek: :confused: :-{}

Some of us have a diff meaning of the word "life" than others as it would seem.

really

Could be like the dealer here, kept saying " all is well" untill the thing runs out.

then they tell me the 100K drive line warnt is "only on certein componets"

@ this point, I would highly recomend that Anyone getting a Dodge vech get all the repair manuals with it, as you'll need them before its over.

:(

I bought mine at advance auto, front wheel hubs complete under $200. they have timken bearings and are a real nice unit. Be careful when you put them in and clean up the assembly they fit into with sand paper I didnt do a good job on 1 side and it failed however they replaced it no problem. good luck Dirk

My truck is a 98. 5 2500 advance auto part #515012 the box also says 0211B it is made by federal mogul try this link http://www.advanceautoparts.com/

You may be able to order online. They had 1 in stock in warsaw and overnighted the other one. They also have a good price on rotors I think around 23bucks? I bought new ones as i got a little carried away with bfh. Better off backing off the 4 12pt bolts on the back and smacking them with a 16oz hammer and replace the u joints while your in there. The hole the hub fits in ,sand the crap out of it untill it shines and use antisieze and it will go together great . Be careful when you put the axles back in the tubes as not to bugger up the seals. . Good luck Hope this helps.

Dirk BCA Bearings 515012

Hub Assembly; H/D Exc. ABS

2 Year Limited Warranty

Ships in 1 dayWeight: 21. 1 lbs.

. :-laf The above is off their site It is the one for my truck.

Did a 97 at work, we pulled the bearings and tried like H to get them alone. Still ended up getting the whole assy. from the dealer. That wes a few years ago, and I dont think any one else could get them, or at least not in a timely manor.....

I've installed hundreds of bearings for customers, I just wish I could do my own wheels. Of course I work in construction equipment and that stuff is still serviceable for the most part.
