I have "lost" 3 driver's side hub caps since I bought the the truck. Always the left front. I have rotated the tires and replaced the tires over time. Tire rotation and replacement should have eliminated any balance problems. I just don't understand. The wife unit thinks they are being taken, as the truck is parked in a driveway and the front end is only 3' from the sidewalk. The left side is not visable from the house.

Anyway, at $60. 00 per cap it's out of hand. Any ideas would be appriciated.

Thank You

Andy

ya your loosing them to the local used hub cap vendor.

There are some locking systems for center caps, you need to drill the covers to install the system. I havent seen them around for a while. Might want to check out JCWhitney on line.

Or maybe just get "chromed" lug nuts and call stop supportiung the local used hub cap vendor.

ACoyle:

I also lost 3 hub caps off the left rear wheel, 1 in Feburary and 2 in the past week.

I checked this site to see if anybody else had a similar problem and found your entry.

The truck is garaged every night and it has not been parked in the same place during the day. I do not use it on a daily basis. I rotated the tires, torqued the lug nuts @ 135# and made double sure all of the caps were on secure. The wheel is running true and nobody in this area has an answer for this. As improbable as it seems, I suspect they are coming off while the truck is moving.
