Hum And Vibration

setting at idle i notice a hum and a Vibration in the stering wheel. when i touch the accelator it quits... I have a 03 automatic 4X2 ..... 20 k miles... . it has always done this from the start..... does anyone know what this is and where to go to read up on it? tks DOC

Do you have the weighted power steering pump hose? Might be a place to start, it is on a TSB but I don't have the number handy.

Also, I had to zip tie my transmission dip stick to the A/C lines because I had the same problem. So what you need to do it get someone inside the truck and you under the hood and start grabbing things until you find the Vibration problem. It worked for me.

I don't know if i have the weighted power stering hose or not. . How can i tell... ????

It has a large metal wieght clamped on it, youwould know it if you saw it. If yor hoses are the same diameter all the way then you don;t have it. The weight is about 3" along the hose and about 2 or 2 1/2" diameter around the hose.

does this weight really work?? do you go too a dealer to get it done and will they warrenty it. i have only 20 k miles and less than 3 yrs. . on the warrenty

Cured the vibration I had and yes I had the dealer do it. I have a good dealer witha friend in the shop!!

Just had the dealer put one on my 03, no charge. It did the trick, vibration gone Oo.
