New Mexico Reaffirms Civil Liberties against the "Patriot Act"

Not to take away from the family of the young woman who was run over by a bull dozer the other day, but you just have to wander how bright that was. She went to a foriegn country and tried to stop a Palestinian house from being Bull Dozed by the Israelis. In my opinion, that was just another form of natural selection. Our natural predators have almost been eliminated, so the less worthy of carrying on the gene pool is now eliminated by other things.

Doing a wheelie on a motorcycle at 100 MPH.

Overdosing on drugs.

Drinking and driving off a cliff.

Becoming a human shield for the palestinians, in front of an Israeli Bulldozer.

What's the difference. Survival of the fit or most intelligent. Anyone have any more examples of natural selection for Humans???

She was fighting for something she believed in and died doing it. Even if I didn't agree with her actions, she had strong will and determination. We need more people like this in this world, she will be missed.

We are going to see more and more of this in the coming years, people desiring peace, giving their lives for it. Our military will be a prime example. Lets pray for their safe return.

I hope this nation can take another two by you know who.

You have to wonder what was going through her mind. D9 is flying towards her at 1 mph. Loud clank clank clank. She's thinking, "the bulldozer is going to stop real soon now. I do not need to mosey out of it's way. " All the while the theme from the movie "Killdozer" is running through her head.

I believe we DO have a LOT of people willing to stand up for what they believe. I see it every day. There are people willing to put their lives in jeopardy to make a statement every day right here in Houston on the side of the road protesting abortion clinics. I fully believe they'd stand in front of a bulldozer to make thier point, though I don't believe it would come to that.

As far as taking another two by you know who, we'll be fine. I voted for Bush, I'll back him because I believe he's doing what he feels is right and is willing to back it up and weather the storms. Sure, he may not be re-elected...

To each his own, God Bless America, I'm glad we have the rights to do what we do, whatever that may be.

If you miss her and think we need more like her, you need only look as far as the house that she died trying to save. It was the house of known terrorist suicide bombers.

Nobody did a better job of showing the illogical thought process of "human shields" than Saddam Hussein.

"Hey I didn't think this would be dangerous, I just wanted to be on the news".

You have to pity the poor things. Read about one of them who sold everything he owned so he could go to Iraq and be a human shield. He wanted to go to an orphanage or hospital that he KNEW would not be bombed. Then uncle Saddam sends him to a power plant. He realized he MIGHT GET HURT :{ :

Then he was trying to figure out how to get home since he blew all his money. That's planning ahead!

Then there was the shmuck that drove his human shield buddies over in his London busses then realized he did not have the money to buy the fuel to drive them back. D'oh!

She made a choice and paid the price. Aiding terrorist is not too high on my respectability list. Trying to protect people/resources involved in terrorist activities is dumber than dumb.

I would feel a great loss had she given her life in efforts to protect life by stopping some scumbag terrorist. She only deserves my pity for being so misguided and stupid. At least she had more guts than the cowardly human shields that went to Iraq. Too bad she picked the wrong side.

The young lady was a 23 years old college student that joined the International Solidarity Movement, a Palistinian-led group that uses the non-violent method of standing in front of Israeli dozers when sent to destroy houses used for terrorist activities. The peace activist of her hometown classed her a martyr and hero. Mourners at her college put flowers on a mock coffin draped with a Palistinian head-cloth. Another sad case of feely good liberalism that lost touch with reality.

Yes, CF, You just dont get it, do you. People have died for what they believed in, inside our country. I am sure you respect them too, and they will be missed by their families, and they will be held up by their ouw people as heroes, for dieing for what they believe. I am talking about the terrorist who hijacked our planes and ran them into the two American Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and one that only made it into a field. By you statement (which makes me sick) you state that we need more people like this in the world. We dont. What we need are better educated people, who arent so brainwashed by the liberal leftist whackos, and we dont need these mental midgets getting killed for your noble causes.

Two way street.

It is a two way street dalton. You can sit in your armchair and believe every little bit of propaganda being put forth by our government, or you can get out and fight for what you believe in. Now that being said, was she fighting for a just cause? Most likely not. In the same breath, she was fighting for something she believed in, just as our soldiers are getting ready to do in Iraq. She wasn't carrying a gun, she wasn't threatening the life of anyone.

The Israelis are fighting a war that is not working, it is an eye for and eye type war and everyone will end up blind before long. The hate is overwhelming and the death on both sides will continue until someone comes forward with enough cohones to call for peace instead of war. THAT is what this girl was doing, it had nothing to do with who was right or who was wrong (in my eyes both sides are idiots). She wasn't thinking about the news media, she decided to see what was up for herself (and I am sure saw some poop on Israel). If it was your daughter would you still feel she had wasted her life?

We are about to enter Israels war. God help us. Wage war for peace, spend money to save money, kill to save people, my my doesen't the right wing administration have a good philosophy?:D

I don't understand why it is Israel's war. I do know that Jews control America's big banks, big insurance companies, and most of the media - TV and newspaper. Hillary Clinton has a Jewish heritage - LMAO!! Most of the Arab countries DO NOT and DID NOT want to give the Palestinians anything. They only wanted them to take everything away from the Israelis.

. . and how could it be Israel's war if it's all about oil!?

I do understand "kill people to save people". My Dad was 70 miles from Nagasaki when the A bomb destroyed that city. He was just about to end 42 months as a Prisoner of War and a guest of a savage, brutal Japanese Emperor! He weighed 96 pounds the day that bomb dropped. He was 5' 11" tall and a broad shouldered Marine Corp Gunnery Sargeant. Skin draped over an emaciated big bone frame. D*#n right - killing can save lives! Anyone that doesn't believe killing can be justified is a d@#n fool!

I don't understand where this a "right wing administration philosophy".

Let's see - CF says he is a Vietnam veteran - JFK/LBJ were Democrats trying to fix a French problem that got the Vietnam debacle started big time. And the war was ended by a "right wing administration" - Old Tricky Dick himself. Durn good thing that we elected old Tricky Dick or we might still be fighting that war!

Thank God for our Freedom and people willing to fight to maintain it!

CF, you have no idea what sitting in an armchair and believing in propaganda is, do you?? Every day that I go to work is a day that I fight for mine, yours, and my kids freedom, so dont pre-judge me or what I do, to contribute to your freedom, or things that I believe in.

As far as what I would do if that little girl was my daughter? Well, I would have done everything possible to get some sense into her head, then I would try everything possible to keep her from going over there. If my daughter was killed doing a stupid thing, such as she did, I certainly would'nt have felt she died for a just cause. I wouldnt have felt her death was worth it, and I certainly wouldnt have championed her cause after her death. She is no martre, and her death was a BIG waste. A waste of a child, a mind, and a daughter of people who loved her.

As far as killing to save lives, it is a fact of history and life that that sometimes needs to happen.

No sense...

I am not part of this conversation any longer. I said I would shut up when the fighting started, I am doing so now. You are all very eager to START a war. I am thinking there is going to be a loud POP when you all pull your heads out of your butts. I know history, and this will be a dark time in American history.

If you cannot tell the difference between what we are doing now and what we did in the past, too bad, I am not going to explain it to you. I guess all the lives lost on 9/11 died in vain. We are on a quest to see it happen again and again. You don't get it.

To put Nixon in the same light as Bush would be ludicrous, Nixon had a brain!

View of soldier

My nephew both transported and guarded prisoners in first phase of conflict . Interesting that enemy always shot at plane with their own people aboard. As far as what he thinks of voluntary human shields, he just calls 'em Speed Bumps.

I hope that he can avoid a third tour as a guard, but there is a real shortage of MP's . The kid had a hard time making ends meet on military pay. [ Army Reserve]. I think he has the right to his views, perhaps as much as Andy Rooney on ''Sixty Minutes''
