What can you do with a 7.3 IDI?

A lot of Dodge Parts NOT available NOW!

Just a quickie.

1998 Hummer with 40,000 miles. Had an interior fire and the engine is questionable. Otherwise everything else is good. At a used car lot. No insurance and disgruntled employee torched it.

My thoughts are: If I can get it cheap enough, let it sit and wait for a 4bt to throw into it; or, part it out?

Thoughts? Ideas? The guy said something about $3,000. That seems way too much to me?

An eleven year old Hummer with significant fire damage and a questionable engine? A new interior, dash, gauges, glass, etc. would cost thousands to replace not to mention the wiring, wiring plugs, sound system, etc. How much would the seller pay you to haul it away?

This is an H1, right? A real Hummer?

Assuming it is, there may be more than $3k of good parts that could be sold on it. \

Hummer bodies are aluminum, which doesn't take too kindly to vehicle fires. The damage may be more significant than you think.

If I were going to use it as a toy, I'd be thinking $1k would be more reasonable. But then, I always think things are worth less than everyone else does.

There's got to be a Hummer forum somewhere populated with people who would know better.
