Humming rear end

Has anyone legitimately cured the humming of their rear end?

(on their truck that is)



mine is pretty loud from about 20 - 30 mph

just noticed it when we got this last cold snap (- 20*F)

No My dealer said it is the TURBO. Then miraculously someone said their dealer said after listening closely It WAS THE TURBO. And is ordering one for him. He hadn't posted if it fixed the noise yet.

this is definately not the turbo

Your signature doesn't say, but I'd guess you have the 3. 73 rear end. Seems like the DRW's with this ratio are the main ones having the problem. The only ones to be cured, have had a total replacement. I'm hoping Dodge issues a TSB, etc. so we can get them fixed under warranty without any more hassle.

Mine is loud too at about 30mph. seems worse when cold but not sure. Where was that other thread.

I have 373's. it does not matter accel decel same noise. Worse when cold.

PS The guy with the changed Turbo still has the noise. Can't wait to show the thread to my 5 Effing STAR dealer
