Country Boy Work Quiz

Happy labor day!!!

I have friends that live there close, we are already on standby to head down as soon as we can get in, we also have feeding unit loading up to head there on Monday

Read that some places have received 24" of rain and more to come! Here is Ca, we average 8-10" for an entire year.

For members in the area who have boats, the Harris County (Houston) authorities are asking anyone with boats or high-water vehicles to please help them out. It's going to get much worse as flood waters continue to pour in.

Harris County Judge Ed Emmett asked that anyone who has a boat or a high water vehicle to help out with rescue efforts in the Houston area.

"We desperately need boats and high water vehicles," Emmett said. "We can't wait for assets to come from outside."

I agree, not a fan of the ARC, lots of other good organizations that will use any thing they receive for relief efforts. There is an organization called Cajun Navy that has dispatched a fleet of boats to Houston to assist in the rescue effort. HEB gracery chain has sent in truck loads of supplies etcetra. bg

While watching some news, and some footage of the Texas flood rescue efforts, its apparent to me that the participation of lifted/ modified truck and antique military vehicle owners deserve a lot of thanks in this! I'm seeing a lot of old M35's and older variants of that doing amazing work!
I know a lot of left leaning politicians want to outlaw the private ownership/ preservation and modification of vehicles, but this example needs to be brought up front.

Watching Fox News now, and the Cajun Navy is being featured. Phone interview with Commander Toney Wade. Excellent!

When Lester Holt from NBC witnessed all the trucks & boats making rescues, he asked what Federal or state agency was running things, as the efforts seemed so orderly & efficient. He was amazed to find out that the government was not involved at all. Dumbass liberal!

There was an AP photo in the Boston Globe today of a "flood inundated " neighborhood. Stupid people didn't even notice the clear roads and all the water in the channel behind the houses along with docks at every house. Sigh...

Yes I watched a lot of Texas footage today. Hey, I'm on vacation and it was raining here too so I was doing "domestic" work.
Anyway, I also saw an interview between 2 men and a female Fox reporter. These guys must have been downhill from a dam that was overrunning etc, and the area was under mandatory evacuation. These guys built a stormwall and were prepared to wait it out against the authorities will.
Anyway, after explaining that the wall is sturdy, and the wives and kids were out, they said that they had everything they needed to stay, including armed protection, and that nothing was going to mess with them.
That Fox reporter was given a dose of American freedom I don't think she was ready for. It was great.

CNN last night spent much of the evening ragging on Trump and very little on the tragedy.
Trump's got some major issues but it's not the time to focus on them.
I feel for the mayor of Houston. He's damned for not ordering an evacuation and damned if he didn't. The highways would have been total gridlock and folks would have died in their cars. This is a 500 yr flood and I think the state, local and private entities are doing the best they can. It's time for the overpaid Hollywood celebrities to cut loose with some donations to hep with the struggle. I'm sure music artists, especially the country ones will come through.

I havent listened to cnn for quite some time. Its like listening to hanoi hanna or tokyo rose. But what I have heard on the radio is all praise for trump in this disaster. Even from democrats.

Praise from everyone except the media. I don't look for it to stop anytime soon.

This flood is a 1000 year rain event, and the videos are sad, and makes you want to help in some way, so I did, and would urge anyone to donate to Samaritans Purse.
This is like Katrina on steroids, and will take many years to recover.
