Has anyone tried one of these mufflers? I have a 4" turbo back exhaust. I don't even know what kind it is, it was on the truck when I bought it. It's not much more then a straight pipe and I get alot of drone in the cab, so I am looking for a good muffler to put on and I was curious about the new hushpower muffler.

Any info. will be appreciate.

Mike

I haven't tried that one, and I would love to hear more about it. I do have a Rokktech Silent Might that I have been happy with that should get rid of your drone and keep your power.

Dury,

Have you towed since putting the Silent Might on your truck? If so, please comment as to the amount of drone and any reduction you saw in EGT compared to the stock muffler.

Thanks,

Steve

I put one on a 07 mega, it had 4inch magnaflow exhaust. Hushpower was quiter around town but still has drone towing, EGT same.

They are pricey $200 for 4" and $179 for 3. 5". Go to Summit to find prices and part #'s. Looks like the design should work though. Expansion chamber works for me on my '97. I just had an '01 resonator on it and it was quiet. Similar idea on hushpower.

I know it is gas, but I have one on my 1979 F-250 and it is the worst sounding muffler I have ever heard. Nothing like the regular series Flowmaster. Too much like a ricer.

I have one that's made for a diesel on my truck and it is fine. It sounds nice out the back and the noise in the cab is very similar to stock. No Drone.

mlockner, You have one of the hushpower mufflers from flowmaster on your truck or one of the other types? If so is it a 4", and were did you get it?

Sorry, I don't tow. The website guarantees no drone while towing in the FAQ.

I know a guy who owns a race engine building shop in Greeley Colorado. One of his suppliers gave him one to put on a stock diesel truck to trial. It is 4 inch in and out and is basically a straight through muffler. It does have some perforated material inside the muffler, but is open straight through it. It was the first change done to my truck. It was supposedly a trial muffler that FlowMaster gave them. All they asked for was dyno numbers before and after the installation. These were done on a SuperFlow Dyno. It was a little increase in hp and torque, but I know it flows better than a stock muffler. This guy knows his stuff and is a reputable engine builder, race car driver and all round great person.

Auro Turbine Muffler

Had a MBRP exhause on my 05 Quad. . it was a little to noisy for me, so i put a Auro Turbine in front of the cat. converter. . just as the exhaust straightens out from the manifold. . cut the drown by over half. . i'd use their muffler again or they recommend using 2 of them. . it was the regular 4040 muffler. . they now have it with a Resistor Type :)
