This is a very sad day indeed :( I first met Nowel about 3 years ago and he was my first contact in this club. He barely knew me but never hesitated to take the time to answer any questions I had. I remember calling him 3 times in 1 day to help figure out a problem. No mater who you were, he would take the time to talk with you. He was a very kind man. I can't imagine a club meeting without him sitting at the head of the table. I will miss you my friend. see ya on the other side of the track.

They say that we are never truly gone...

They say that we are never truly gone as long as someone remembers us...

I will remember Nowel as a total stranger who invited me into his world. A world where I then had the pleasure to meet many of you that started this thread. (Amianthus, a few pages ahead, describes well how Nowel could infect you with his passion)

I will remember Nowel's grin when we looked over at me after draining all the blood out of my face. This after the first 'drive' in that never to be forgotton red pickup on some back road in Santa Clara.

If he can figure out how to get a diesel in heaven I am sure he will start some kind of forum up there.

Farewell my friend! I will remember you for a very long time.

I can't even begin to convey how sad I am today after hearing this news.

Over the past few weeks I've been talking to Nowel on a pretty regular basis in preparation for this weekends race. We've had a few laughs in that time and I was very anxious to meet him once they came down. I would much rather tell about the good times we had this weekend instead of giving my condolences to his family and friends.

This is indeed a sad day. Nowel was loved by many, not only here at TDR but at a few of the other diesel sites. He was one of the originals and our little community has lost a piece of history.

Rest in Peace my friend,

Curtis Harris

A Great Loss

It is a shame to loose one of the pioneers in the world of performance diesel, and only God knows why he had to go. We will all remember Nowell and his contributions to our little world, and pray that he rests in peace and that his freinds and family live strong in his name... ... ... .

God Bless

I never met or spoke with Nowel, but I always enjoyed reading his posts. My sympathy and prayers go out to family and friends.

This was the thread I have been fearing the most as a true friend of many has been lost here.

Nowel will be greatly missed, especially at Sears Point and Sacramento Raceway for us Norcal folks.

My thoughts go out to his sister Leanne and grandmother, and to all of us, his extended oil-burning family.

THE FORD GUY :( :( :(

I never had the opportunity to meet Nowel, but I felt like I knew (and respected) him through his posts here on the TDR. He will be greatly missed. :( Godspeed, Nowel.

We convey our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Nowel ... we keep you in our prayers. Stand vigilant in watching over us as we continue to strive for goals you set and exceeded.

Not much can be added to that already said above. He was one of the first people I talked with after getting my truck and he helped several times with suggestions. He was one of those people that really had the ability to help and would always do so.

Goodby my friend, rest in peace.

Stan

Nowel. . I know you can hear us, and we will miss your untimely passing. . I'll never forget the many years I've known you and the fun we had together at the different events around the country. You were an inspiration to us all in the sport of diesel performance. You will be truly missed by all... Your friend, Steve

I wish to convey my condolences to HVAC's family. I remember the posts and discussions from the early days of the TDR. It was lighter in those days and an HVAC thread was one that was sought after because of the information it contained about the then new 24 valve engine. HVAC was one of the HP pioneers and will be missed by all. I didn't know him personally, but I think I would have enjoyed his company. I want to contribute the following. I hope it is a fitting tribute.

He didn't hold public office and he didn't walk in the circles of the rich and famous, but to those whom he was known, he was called a friend. All he possessed he would share and the ones he leaves behind will remember him as one who cared. Like all of us, he had faults, but faults are all too often judgments placed on those who are not like us. A legacy of sad hearts and fond memories are all he left behind for us who will someday join him.

Keep the line up HVAC. We'll see you soon.

Nowel- keep the revs up!

So fast on the track, and too fast in leaving us. You will be missed. Next time I see dark clouds, I'll think of you, dynoing in the sky. Rest Easy,

Greg
