Competition HVAC Memorial in Issue 44?

I have been doing some checking and it appears nothing was planned to go into Issue 44 (the next one coming out in May or June) in terms of some sort of dedication or memorial to HVAC so we need to start doing someting about it!



SUBMISSION CUTOFF DATE IS MARCH 3



I thought nothing in Issue 43 was presented (except for the "Final Destinations" notation ) presented because of publication cutoff dates, but now I find out nothing was officially being worked on. So it seems if this is important to anyone we need to act fast if we want to contribute material to the TDR editorial staff for inclusion in some sort of writeup in Nowel's honor.

I am sending a printout of a thread (that is long gone from this site) about Nowell getting his first set of injectors from DD in the Red Rocket in December 1999. It's a fun read, hope it gets in the magazine.

I will look forward to this feature. I have heard (read) much about him on this site. The members who knew him have a great deal of respect for him and his knowledge. It will be a pleasure to read about the man from those who knew him.

I would sure like to see something go into the next issue as well whether it be a picture collection or some of his early stories. I also would be interested in seeing that thread of Nowel's. I too, have searched the 'Archives' and have found that most of the earlier stories told by HVAC have been long lost. One of my favorites was the post entitled something like: 'My Truck Keeps Cracking Me Up' in which Nowel torpedoed his tailpipe when lighting up the Red Rocket in Half Moon Bay.

Also didn't he set a rag on fire during a dyno run that was stuffed at the end of the soot pipe to try and keep it on his tailpipe?



I know since the server move a few years ago we lost a lot of stuff (mainly member identities).

I think that he set several things on fire over the years!
