Update... problem solved!

I installed a new Honeywell aquastat controller and it has run perfectly for 2 days now. No double starts.

Oo.

Many thanks to those who gave me suggestions.

FYI Pex Supply on line had the best price ($120)and super service. Got the part in 2 days with ground shipment. Sweet.
