I Have Heard You Can Put A Better Turbine On The Stock Hx35 Turbo, Where Would You Find A Turbine? Where Can You Find A Hx 40 Housing? I Work For A Cummins Auth. Dealer And Cummins Shop And Parts Warehouse Are Across The Street. I have acess to quickserve as well if the parts can be gotten from cummins.

I would not advise changing either the compressor wheel or turbine shaft. I did this with my Volvo T3 Garret and ended having it last 11k. The problem is your rotating assembly is no longer balanced, the vibration of the off balance rotating assembly spinning 125k RPM or more will destroy the bearings in no time.

It depends how out of balance it is, it may last a day or a year, who knows. Best practice is to have a shop balance it $245, or swap out the entire center cartridge as an assembly.

I have done several of these. Mine has 5+ years and approx 50k hard miles. You're looking for a 6 blade 60mm Hx40 compressor wheel and housing. Although it would be best to balance the assembly, I nor many others have not (The new wheel is already balanced). You will have to modify the center section to get that wheel to fit by making a couterbore in the center section about . 100" dia bigger - not a big issue if you have access to a lathe or Brigeport & whirrly jig (read: rotating table). Look up High Tech Turbo's web site for more information. You'll also need an adjustable boost elbow - these are easy to make too.

You dont do the turbine on the hx35, you do a compressor swap. After the larger compressor is installed, you might want a turbine housing to go with it...

HTT and City diesel are the two contacts for "hybrid" or "dodgezilla" turbos.

Where Can You Get Just The Housing? When You Change The Housing Is It Bolt Together Or Is There Mods That Need To Be Done?

Ok, from the beginning again... .

The compressor housing by itself will do no good, you have to do the wheel also. Not sure why you would want just an HX40 compressor housing. Also, the compressor housing is not a "bolt on", HX35's use a internal c-clip to hold the housing on. The wheel is a bolt on.

I dont see why HTT wouldnt sell you just the compressor housing, but it will do you no good.

The turbine side is a bolt on, but you dont need the wheel. Its a larger housing that fits the stock turbine wheel.

I also get the gist that you may be confused about which end is which... The compressor is the one that the air filter hooks to, the turbine is the exhuast side.

I've Got Which End Of The Turbo Is What. I Was Trying To Figure Out What A Hx35/40 Hybird Was. Can My Hx35 Be Made In To A Hybird?

the hybrid is a hx40 cold side swaped onto a hx35 centersection and hot side. . basically giving you a bigger compressor wheel and housing on your stock hx35 turbo

If you happen to have an H1c its real easy. With the 35, you have to do some machine work to make it fit, but not a big deal.

HTT will do the work if you dont have access to a machine shop, and they can balance the assy for you as well.

Yeah, or you can fill out your signature so we know what truck you have, and then can tell you what turbo you have.
