Just wondering what brake ya'll use after the HX40 swap. Pacbrake doesn't offer a 45* in a 4" full (or half) marmon. Not sure about Jake or BD. Trying an . 080" compressor wheel and housing first on the 35W, then I'll have to start over with a bigger unit. May try an H1E or a Switzer first. Many more housing and wheel options, but they're all 4" out, so the Pacbrake's history... T

Tony, you need to go with the 4" underbody mount BD brake.

Tony, I've had my 4" BD brake since the HX40 install. Works great, I use it everyday, rain or shine(leave it off for snow/ice). If you end up going to the 4" exhaust turbo to tail, try to find a shop that carrys the BD and take a look at it. I think you will be impressed with the quality.

Thanks for the reply, guys. Is the BD a regular 2 port vaccuum fed unit, and how does it splice into the pipe (i. e. 4" full marmon v-clamps or welded)? Sounds like it sure would get pounded by the elements, being mounted underneath, or is it that well built? Thanks again... T

Yes, the BD remote mount is a 2 port vacuum unit. There are two 3-bolt weld on flanges which come with the kit to mount the brake. The gaskets which come with the kit are pretty durable also. I have had mine off several times since I bought the brake well before the HX40.

I have the brake mounted towards the rear of the cab and seems to stay pretty clean. I have only had one problem with it and that was because of the check valve on my vacuum pump.
