HX40 & silencer ring

If this is redundant I'm sorry, but anyway if you guys who are gettintg a HX40 turbo want to add a silencer ring(ever) you'll have to have the snap ring groove machined in as they don't come prepped for it(anyway mine didn't)--I will be in the process over the next few weeks of seeing if I can add one without having to remove the turbo & taking it to a machine shop---chris

yea I know--I'm thinking of the passengers(my long haul to Montana for hunting) and would like to be able to put it in & remove it at will or if I can't I'll epoxy it in or drill some screws in to hold the ring in place--oh I don't know--it'd been nice if I'd had the option to put the groove in had I known it didn't come with it---chris

I believe there is a member who was going to have Majestic Turbo put a groove in his HX40 for a sliencer ring and it was VERY cost prohibitive. As a matter of fact I think he ended up modifying an HX35 housing to fit an HX40 compressor just so he could have a silencer ring and this was cheaper.
I am sure that you could do something similar to a silencer ring with out having the snap ring groove machined inside the turbo.
