hy 35

Now we're coming to another saga in the high EGTs. What, and where,can I get an hy 35? Is this a replacement for the Turbo? If so, where can I find info on retarding the wastegate on an Auto. ?I surely don't want to have to replace the Turbo just because I put on an EZ. I guess I have to lower the egts because of the EZ,so someone mentioned an HY 35??It seems that if you can delay the wastegate from opening it will raise boost, which is a good thing, right?? I am not sure what you have on your truck since you didn't post your sig. But if you have a Auto then it probably has a Hy35 turbo on it now... I have heard of several ways to increase boost with that setup. One is to drill a (Small) hole in the metal line connected to the wastegate. another way is to "TurnBuckle the wastegate arm. And yet another is to plug the line with a 22 rifle shell CASING. I highly suggest you contact Edge . http://www.edgeproductsinc.com They are very helpful and will give you the best advice for your truck. Don't fret. There is an easy way to do it. Check your E-mail. I have the EZ and DD2's and the HY handles it fine. Quick spool up too. I could probably gain some power from a larger turbo but would hate to trade the lag for the power gain.

Use the turnbuckle,i get 31 psi with it. EGT never gets above 950 with DD's TTPM. And that little HY is still holding up.

I have an HY35 in my 2001 4x4 with an edge EZ. If you put a filter like the NAPA 2790 (or is it 2970)and loose the muffler ( I kept the resonater) you will not get over 1100 empty. Add a little undercoating and some sound proofing on the cab behind the rear seat and you won't miss the muffler . brian mallory

Turnbuckle and spring............

I liked the idea of just delaying the waste gate with a spring. The turnbuckle is good for adjusting it also. Unfortunately I believe I've disabled it anyway as my max boost is 32# which is what most people report that have it disabled.
