HY35 into a LS1 Camaro

One of the guys at work has a Camaro with a LS1 engine in it. He wants to buy my stock turbo from my truck to put on his car. Will this setup work? he understands that it will require major fabrication, but I don't want to sell it to him if it won't work well for him. he said that he was only looking for 10-15 psi of boost, is that on the map for my turbo? how laggy is it going to be?

I'll bet that the turbine housing is too small. Not sure about the compressor side.

from personal experience of running these on a 350 CID motor, the small exhaust housings are hard to control boost. The motor is turning a lot higher RPM's and when the wastegate opens boost continues to climb. I have seen 20 psi on a stock 350 with a single hx-35 with a 12 cm exhaust housing if memory serves me correctly. With a smaller 9 cm housing on a hy35 it would be worse. Unless he wants to look into getting another one and doing twins.

probably would work OK if he used the wastegate to bypass the turbine housing.
