Three questions.

Who has an old HY35 turbo laying around that they want to part with cheap.

What is the drive pressure of a PDR HX35/12 at 30 PSI of boost and the engine at 2800 RPM?

What does an H2E cost?

If I can find a good price on a wastegated 14cm housed HX35 I would sell you my HY cheap.

Mine only has 1500 miles on it.

Bill

I've got my HY on the ironing board in pices right now. The HX is on the truck right now, but don't know how long for ;) :D.

Andrew

You can buy mine

I just replaced my factory HY-35, with a Piers HX-40. It's only got 25,000 miles on it. Make me an offer and it is yours.

Ted

The Hy and HX housings are NON~Interchangeable. When I bought the PDR i knew all the specs but check my sig incase. <hr>

Before I go any further than this, maby someone can answer a question for me. The HY uses a single volute, where the HX uses a double volute... twin scroll. . housing. I was thinking about opening up the passages in a HY and using a larger wastgate poppet to lower drive pressure at higher RPM.

Does the high EGT from the HY turbo come more from the exhaust flow reversion within the manifold between cylinders caused by the single scroll design, and valve overlap than anything else? I think this is true, and opening up the turbine housing passages and using a larger wastgate poppet would only lower spool up time and slightly lower drive pressure while not affecting EGT at all.

I know, that is why I want the whole HY turbo..... I have an Idea.

Well I just wanted to make sure ( I had a hunch somethin' was going somewhere with this but caution must be tossed out as a comment just in case)

That and the 9Cm2 exhaust housing.

The Freak is buildin TWINS!!!!

That's gonna spool like no tomorrow... you'll prolly need an external wastegate to be able to use it for high hp. you'll have a hard time venting off drive pressure.

A cheap external wastgate costs only $800! a good one costs close to $1500! You can dial them in from the cab :D

You did notice that the HP ratings doubled for twin turbo setups right????

The smallest of the bunch would work.
