HY45 Turbo

Any one have experience installing larger turbo like HY45 & higher output fuel pump on the 2003 High Output?



2003 Dully 6-Sped, Viper 19. 5 Wheels w/245 Michelin XDE, Stage III injectors, Dr Performance Predator HiPres & MAP Chips, AFE Air, 4" exhaust w/US Gear Decelerator, Boost & TIT gages, Ride-Rite, ibp rear Sway Bar. Dyno 400HP Rear Wheels.

I can't answer your question, but does your truck smoke like a banshee with those injectors? What is your average MPG?



I'm looking for a little more power but don't want to be getting 12 mpg. Smoke would be good though! :-laf :-laf

When did holset make a HY45?



All I know of is the HY40V, and the HE431V VTi, which are both variable geometry, and impossible to control on the CTD.

DF, We have a version of the B-1 that is a direct bolt in for the '03.

Turbo Boost/Smoke

If I am at 1400 RPM or below and step on the throttle, I will initially pump our a large cloud of black smoke. At 1600 RPM and above there is a very repeat very small amount of gray smoke.

With no load I am able to get 20MPG at 65MPH. With load of camper, Aluminum Flatbed trailer and Jeep Rubicon (total GVW 19,000 lbs) I am able to get 14-16MPH depending most on the amount of head wind I am experiencing.
