I sure would have liked to seen one of those, I just cant wait that long. I think it would be great for camping. I cant seem to find out which version cummins they will use. The last info I found it said it would be offered as a contractor special. I think price will be a sensitive issue for the option. That alone would prob put it out of my reach. Opinions?

I asked a similar question and I pretty much arrived at the conclusion that for the price, it would be cheaper to install a generator and/or power inverter, and wouldn't add the additional complexity of an entirely new drive system to a truck that I would plan on keeping forever. I can imagine a while down the road when they perfect the hybrid thing and it helps MPG by more than 10% I might take a second look... but until then I'll keep the power generation and truck drivetrain mutually exclusive.

I seen a hybrid cummins 3500 dark blue quad cab driving down I-96 West about 20 miles outside of Detroit this past fall (october ish) (I live in the area and drive 96 everyday too and from work) I stayed with it for a couple of miles and seen one person driving and another person usinig a laptop... . the badge on the tailgate and side said cummins hybrid and it had a manufactures license plate on it. pretty cool to see goin down the road... ...
