To follow up, is it suggested to convert the rear drum brakes to a disk system as well when doing the hydro-boost conversion on the early 2nd gen trucks?
 
It has been pointed out that it isn't the brakes that stop the vehicle, it is the tires. Drum brakes will stop you just as well as disc brakes if they are maintained. In addition, converting the park brake system isn't easy.
 
I second this, the second Gen tires are really Wiener's and below par. I drive one often these days and it doesn't feel planted to the asphalt to say so. More like a bicycle...
