Hydrogen Generator ?

When I was a kid we made hydrogen in science class.



Two beakers, sealed at the top, joined at the bottom by a tube (for continuity). Then insert two platinum bits attached to a wire. Energize the platinum, and the oxygen separates from the hydrogen in the water. Pretty soon you have a full beaker of hydrogen, and a half beaker of water.



By the way, it takes more energy to separate the water than the energy created by burning the hydrogen.

Does a Hydrogen gererator generate hydrogen or consume hydrogen to generate something else? I have an LP generator in my RV, which consumes LP to generate electricity.

Let's see ... . sell my invention to Daimler / Ford / GM that ups their mpg by 10 - 20% for $50 in parts for let's say 10 million each for unlimited licensing or make a couple hundred bucks on ebay ..... hmmmm, decisions, decisions. :-laf
